Art for All

Are you a budding musician, artist, dancer, in need of assistance buying equipment, or paying for tuition?

Are you a professional arts or music teacher wanting to attend a master class?

Are you a practicing musician or artist planning to stage an event?

The aim of the Arts Council is to stimulate and encourage the creative arts and develop their appreciation amongst residents through out the Borough of Surrey Heath. Through facilitating various events it endeavours to show the local community the wealth of talent which exists in the Borough and seeks to improve communication and awareness between interested individuals and groups.

The Arts Council helps groups and individuals financially through two schemes, both of which require applicants to live or, in the case of organisations, meet within the Borough. Applications are considered by the Grants Subcommittee and a recommendation made for endorsement by the Arts Council.

Promoting live performance

In September we are staging the Young Musician 2008 competition. We hope this will further encourage the younger residents of Surrey Heath in their musical careers. Please click on the poster on the right for more information. We have contestants in the Brass, Woodwind, Piano and String categories, don't delay in submitting your application!

Stop press: the competition was originally intended for young musicians aged 12 to 18 who have reached grade 6, however we have had some interest from younger musicians, and so the subcommittee has decided to relax the minimum age requirement. Obviously younger contestants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and the contestant must reside in the Borough

Welcome from the chairman
